ABOUT DDSM
The founder
Nathan McDonald started his professional football career playing for Stoke City before moving to play for other English clubs and also a spell playing in Sweden before coming back to the UK.
After his professional career, on reflection Nathan realised the benefits of being part of a professional football club and how that helped to develop young people and bring out their potential not just with regards to a talent for football, but in a way that helped them develop confidence and abilities for life.
This was the catalyst for setting up DDSM. Nathan realised that the same techniques could be adapted and used for all age groups to create developmental programmes through sport to help everyone, not just potential professional sports stars, but all young people from any background and situation.
In 2014 Nathan started DDSM, working with children of all ages in nurseries, primary schools, high schools and youth centres. Using sport to help bring children out of their shells and help them develop and learn to express themselves.
DDSM goes from strength to strength and has expanded it’s offering to work closely with educational establishments in the South Manchester area, but also to apply the same techniques to businesses, offering them an alternative way to create unique team building and development programmes.
Nathan’s goal is to help the next generation learn the benefits of working hard to achieve whatever goal they may be striving for.
